Louisiana Safety Car Inspection Requirements
You must complete an inspection if:
You're new to Louisiana and you have just registered your car.
Your current LA inspection sticker is about to expire.
You purchased a used vehicle and want to register it with the OMV.
You are ordered by law enforcement to submit your vehicle for inspection.
Please present the following before inspection:
Valid driver's license
Current vehicle registration
Current valid auto insurance
